- Father is a former professional player. Drafted in the first round (7th pick overall) by the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League in 1982. Former All-American at San Jose State University 1981-82.
- Michael’s brother, Christopher, with Mustang Soccer Academy U-18 boys team has committed to Loyola Marymount University for the 2009 Soccer season.
