Hi, my name is Stephen Copley.  Last year (2009 - 2010) I played holding mid and stopper for the CA Premier Champion South Bay Force U16 soccer team.  For two years running we had the top defense in the coast soccer league for our age groups.

     In High School I started Varsity as a Freshman and I earned MVP and 1st team All League Honors as a Sophomore and Junior.   

     This year I am very happy to be learning the central defender position in a zonal system for the Galaxy U16 Academy Team.  This is a great team to be part of and I couldn’t ask for a better opportunity to prepare me for the future.  So far (the fall season) we have the 2nd ranked defense in the nation.  This spring I have learned a lot about running and organizing the team defense and have gained a ton of confidence that I can direct the team as needed.

     I hope to be attending and playing soccer for a Division 1 College in the fall of 2012.  My strengths are organization and positioning on defense and touch and precision passing on the ball and out of the back.  I am strong in the air and nimble on the ground.  I am fit, focused and a hard worker for the whole game.  I feel I can contribute to any team style but feel a possession oriented high pressing team would be best suited to my skills.  I love playing and have played pretty much every position on field at one time or another so I am versatile going forward and can score when called upon.
