Matt played CSL Club soccer for 7 years and led his team in scoring in each of those years. Over that time period he was named MVP for his age group at Celtic Cup and the Arsenal Winter Showcase.  In 2010 Matt was named to the Sourthern California ODP Boys ’94 Pool and as a freshman was awarded Offensive MVP for the varsity soccer team at Dana Hills High School.  2010-11 was Matt’s first year with the Irvine Strikers U15/16 Academy Team, where he played mostly winger and sometimes forward.  During this first Academy Season, Matt led his team in assists and scored 12 goals.   In July 2011 Matt was invited to play for Strikers FC in the prestigious Milk Cup in Northern Ireland where his team was 5-1-1. In November 2011 and February 2012 Matt participated in the US National Market Training session held at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles.  Matt led his U18 Academy team in goals in 2012.  Coaches have praised Matt’s work ethic, teamwork, athleticism, decision making and finishing skills.  Matt is exceptional at making runs that create space for himself and his teammates and is relentless on the attack.  His speed, vision and quick touch enhance his team’s ability to both control possession and earn goal scoring opportunities. Matt is a member of National Honors Society and carried a 3.8 GPA through Sophmore year and has achieved a 4.0 GPA during his Junior year.  In August 2012 Matt will be competing along side a select group of other US Academy players for PSC in an international tournament held in Coppenhagen and Amsterdam.
